Remodeling Your Bathroom? Tips And Ideas For You To Consider

Bathroom remodeling can be hectic, time-consuming and costly. However, the process does not necessarily have to be so hard on you or your pocket book. With proper planning, the process can be fun and affordable. We asked our friends at Cheltenham Plumbers to provide some insight for our readers. So if you are currently contemplating remodeling your restroom, here are some simple tips and ideas that they advise you to consider if you want to make, and get the most out of your bathroom remodeling efforts.

Make Sure That Everything You Need Is On Hand

When planning a bathroom remodel, it is important that you have everything you need on-site before commencing. Things like special-order tiles and vanity tops could take a couple of weeks to arrive. As such, it is advisable that you be patient and wait for such items to arrive before your start hammering things down. At the same time, make sure that everything else that’s needed including the new lighting, plumbing fixtures, the tub, etc., is on-site before starting.

Consider All The Options You Have

Remodeling can be quite hectic and calls for one to be sober-minded when making decisions. Home centers can have limited product selections, and this could be quite limiting especially when you are looking to make your bathroom unique. It is, therefore, advisable that you take the time to plan and to consider all the options you have in advance. By taking the time to think about your remodel and what you need, it will be easier for you to decide, seek advice, budget, and order fixtures, equipment, and items you need to remodel your bathroom.

Be Creative

The bathroom is one place where we spend a lot of time in every single day. Considering the nature and purpose of a bathroom, it is important that you work towards making it a unique haven where you can spend hours unwinding, relaxing and pampering. This, therefore, calls for you to be more creative when remodeling – considering that you do not want to spend a lot of time and effort taking down your bathroom, remodeling it and not have it produce an effect that’s greater than what it had before. When remodeling your bathroom, do your best to make it unique. Consider using accent tiles, adding a heated towel rack, better sinks and any other thing that will make the room unique.

Consider Hiring A Professional

If you are not too sure that you can handle the project on your own, it is advisable that you consider hiring the services of a professional remodeler. While professional remodeling services aren’t free, they are essential – that is if you want your project to be successful. The main reason why you should consider hiring the services of a professional home remodeler is because remodelers are people that are experienced and have the know-how, the equipment and the manpower required to get the job done fast, professionally and efficiently.

Update Lighting

Remodeling is all about improving something, and what better way to improve the look and feel of your bathroom than updating lighting in the room. When updating the lights in your bathroom, it is advisable that you go for lights that are rated for use in bathrooms.

  1. Thanks for sharing these. I was glad to see lighting mentioned toward the end, because even the best bathroom updates can look less than appealing in bad lighting. Taking things just a small step further by updating the lighting after everything else will really help show the improvements off.

    • I could not agree more! This is especially important if your bathroom doeos not have a window! My personal favourite are LED strips (warm white) to bathe the room in pure cizyness (no pun intended !).

  2. I really like your point about considering all your options. When you do enough research to know your options of material and layout, you give yourself MORE room for creativity. Also, I have to echo the last section about lighting: sometimes the BEST thing you can do to completely change the feel of a room in need of remodeling is to update the lighting. Modern lighting is just prettier than the old energy-draining bulbs.

  3. It’s true that you spend a lot of time in your bathroom. Not only that, but it is the room that is used and seen by the most people. That is why I’m trying to remodel and make it absolutely perfect! Updating the lighting sounds like a great way to change up the style and atmosphere right off the bat, thank you for the tip!

  4. I’ve been trying to come up with a good way to make my bathroom look new. I think it makes sense that I would want to have everything on-site before doing the remodel! I wouldn’t want to have to put it on hold while I wait to get something. Thanks for the tips!

  5. Great post, Arturo. I really enjoy your post, your useful tips help me a lot. I’m going to try them out with my bathroom. Thanks for sharing!

  6. I really like your section about high-tech toilets. I already have some toilets with slow-close lids and I love them. I think it would be amazing to get a toilet with music that plays when you open the lid like you mentioned.
